Established in 1997, FUTURA LABORATORIES (“FL”) is the innovative design studio and experimental lifestyle brand of artist FUTURA (formerly FUTURA 2000). 

While the FL brand was born in Brooklyn, NY, the flagship retail store operated out of Fukuoka, Japan. FL has since evolved from a product brand and physical retail outpost, into a globally-connected entity—forging powerful partnerships across the worlds of art, entertainment, sports, fashion, consumer tech, and more. As part of his overall creative ethos, FL serves as an outlet for FUTURA’s creativity and self-expression—all while offering a range of democratized products, alongside editions and collectibles alike. 

Almost 30 years later, FUTURA LABORATORIES has developed into a global brand that partners with both individual artist friends and institutions such as Martha Cooper, Virgil Abloh, Salehe Bembury, the Brooklyn Museum and the MCA Chicago, as well as leading brands including Nike, Off-White, Beats By Dre, Dr. Martens, and Crocs.
